FREE MEATWISE TOOL
Carnivore Meat Cost Calculator
Compare the weekly cost of common meat-first staples using your household size, meals, portions, and the prices you actually see at your store.
Build your weekly protein mix
Enter your own shelf prices, then choose roughly how much of the week you want each food to cover. The mix is relative, so it can total 100 or any other positive number.
How the calculator works
It first estimates total weekly meal portions from people × days × meat-first meals per day. Your mix percentages divide those portions among the foods you selected. Meat portions use your chosen ounces per meal and convert ounces to pounds; egg portions use three eggs as a simple planning unit. The calculator then applies only the prices you entered and shows a weekly quantity, weekly cost, monthly equivalent, and copyable shopping list.
Use it as a grocery-planning tool, not a prescription
Appetite, age, activity, side foods, leftovers, bone weight, cooking loss, and household preferences all change what you actually buy. The useful number is the one you refine from your own receipts and leftovers. Start with an estimate, record what the household actually used, then adjust the next week.
Compare the cost of a meal, not just the sticker price
A lower price per pound can still create waste if nobody wants the leftovers. A more expensive cut may earn a place in the rotation when it reliably becomes two dinners. Cost planning works best when price, usable portions, leftovers, and convenience are considered together.
