Compare two packages
Why usable cost matters
Bone, skin, trimming, rendered fat, and cooking loss can make two packages with similar shelf prices behave differently in your meal plan. This tool lets you supply your own rough usable-yield assumption instead of claiming one universal yield.
How it calculates
Shelf cost per pound is package price divided by package pounds. Estimated usable pounds are package pounds multiplied by your usable percentage. Estimated usable cost per pound is package price divided by those usable pounds. The result is a planning comparison, not a measured yield claim.
