Yield: 4 servings · Prep: 5m · Cook: 25m

Ingredients

Instructions

Pat the chicken dry and salt thoroughly. Air-fry skin-side down at 380°F for 12 minutes. Flip and continue cooking until the skin is crisp and the thickest part reaches 165°F.

Why this recipe works

The air fryer gives inexpensive skin-on chicken thighs crisp edges with very little cleanup and without requiring extra ingredients.

Budget tip

Bone-in, skin-on thighs can be a useful value cut; compare package price and the number of meals the package will actually produce.

Make it stretch

Cook extra thighs and use leftover meat with eggs or broth for another meal.

Meal-prep note

Cool extra portions promptly; dry-heat reheating helps bring the skin and browned edges back.
